Forgive me, but the beginning of this TeeSpy review is going to be a little dry. I’m going to cover everything this T-shirt spy tool can do so people who aren’t familiar with it know exactly what they are getting into. What Is TeeSpy and What Does It Do?
TeeSpy Pro is a piece of software that helps you find the hottest selling t-shirt designs by spying on other online t-shirt sellers. The software scans active campaigns on all the big t-shirt selling sites. It then pulls all that data and organizes it for you in one easy to see layout. This software can also be used to scan whats trending or popular on major social networking sites.
Research Tools that Make-up This T-Shirt Spy
TeeSpy has several research tools that all complement each other. Some tools let you do predictive research, while others let you spy on your competitors.
Campaigns
The Campaigns tab allows you to choose whether you want to see the newest t-shirt designs, the top-selling designs, or the designs with the highest engagement. TeeSpy pulls data from all the major T-Shirt creation sites like Teespring, TeeChip, ViralStyle, Fabrily, Teezily, GearBubble, SunFrog, Represent, Design4T, Booster, Threadmeup, Teegear, and Redbubble. It then organizes all the data neatly for you. You can then filter the results based on the number of sales, price, style, FB likes, dates, and a few other less important metrics. Trends
Another great tool that lets you see what’s trending in Buzzfeed, Google, and Twitter. Some of the trending topics can make great shirt ideas or shirt meme ideas. This trends feature is more about jumping in front of your competition rather than looking at what they are currently doing.
Marketing
In this section you will find the Facebook ad search tool which lets you search FB ads related to your niche. You’ll be able to use keywords and a website address to find winning design ideas. For example, you can type in the keyword ‘nurse’ and use www.teespring.com to track t-shirt ads that are related to nursing. If you come upon a shirt that has at least 500 Likes and 100 shares then you’ll want to save it in your idea folder.
This section also has the Facebook interests tool that will help you find audiences who are interested in the shirt designs you want to promote. The audience name and size is listed for you.
Inspiration
Inspiration is a great feature that lets you search Pinterest, Wanelo, Skreened, Zazzle, and CafePress for ideas related to your niche or keywords. This is great because you can quickly get a feel for the type of designs people like the most.
For example, using Pinterest you can find some cool phrases to design shirts around. I found a couple for “fishing” that I could use to make some cool T-shirts. You can sort the results by repins, likes, or comments. Most T-Shirt designers use the repin option, find a great idea, and then come up with a shirt design. And you can do the same thing!
Alerts
TeeSpy also has an option to setup alerts that notify you when other shirts with your selected keywords become available. After putting in your keywords you can chose to be notified based on sales criteria or social engagement. Or you can setup an alert for both (you have to do each alert separately). The alerts can be setup for your desktop or email either hourly, daily, or weekly.
Niches
There is also a niches option that lets you dive into popular niches. You can go deeper into each niche by clicking on the “Find Subniches” button. This tool will help you find tons of profitable niches and cool product ideas.
Does It Have any Bugs or Gliches?
This software runs super smooth. I didn’t experience any crashes or bugs while playing around with it (3 hours). It pulls up the research rather quickly. I also like that it is aesthetically pleasing, well at least version 2.0 is and that’s the current version.
Final Verdict: TeeSpy Is a MUST HAVE Tool for Any Online T-Shirt Seller
I personally think that this is an essential tool if you want to go into the T-Shirt selling business. It saves you a ton of time and makes it extremely easy to do research on multiple websites. You can find the best-selling designs for each niche, improve upon them, and make some great money! The developers even let you check it out without even asking for your email. I think it’s great when developers let people test their products. Otherwise, prospects only have software reviews to rely on. In any case, I recommend TeeSpy wholeheartedly! It’s awesome!
A Few of My Thoughts on the T-Shirt Selling Online Business Model
Well, I’ve finished my TeeSpy review, but I wanted to add my two cents on the T-Shirt selling business. I know some internet marketers are promoting selling T-shirts as a great online business. They make it seem like it’s super duper easy. Like all you have to do is design a shirt, put up a couple of Facebook ads, and the sales will just roll on in.
The truth is that T-shirt sales is a VERY competitive business that involves doing lots of research and testing.
When you’re first starting out, most of your designs will bomb – I know this from personal experience. I started a couple of years ago and my first campaigns lost money. I didn’t know what I was doing but it seemed like everyone was making money selling T-Shirts online so I wanted a piece of that action. This was before TeeSpy was invented so it was really hard starting out.
With TeeSpy at your side, you will have an easier time. This tool will save you a lot of headaches! And it does make things way easier on you. Especially the research part.
Still, T-Shirt selling is challenging. Even though you have a great tool like TeeSpy to help you do research, you’ll still have to do plenty of testing. And there will be some growing pains!
Be committed and don’t just give up if you experience a few setbacks.
I want to close with a strong word of warning. TeeSpy makes it really easy to find the hottest selling T-Shirt designs, but do not fall into the trap of straight up copying them because that is outright THEFT and sooner or later you will pay for it! Don’t be one of those thieving “copy & paste” guys. Use this tool to find out what’s hot and come up with your own designs.
